How does the North Yorkshire Group operate?
We have developed a local group which encourages networking and explores all aspects of our members
interests including (but not exclusively): writing for personal development, using
creative writing therapeutically with others, and training.
Following our excellent meeting on the 18th of October 2008 on Forum Theatre see attached notes (meeting notes- Word document),
we have decided to take the group in a slightly different direction.
The aim is to create two peer mentoring groups, one covering the Bradford/Leeds area and the other broadly Scarborough/York/Hull.
These will meet as regularly as the members require and will focus on issues around facilitating therapeutic creative writing workshops,
as well as on personal development/reflective writing members are doing themselves.
Once these two groups have gained strength, we intend to have a regional meeting to exchange ideas and develop our practice further.
If you are interested in joining the Leeds/Bradford group please contact Anne Maney, 01937 843010, annemaney@ntlworld.com.
If you are interested in the Scarborough/York/Hull group please contact Kate Evans, 01723 360628, Kateevans@tinyonline.co.uk
While Kate Evans (KateEvans@tinyonline.co.uk) is nominally co-ordinator of the group, it is expected that other members will organise meetings.
